regenerative software gives you back control over engineering, and lets the coding agent control the codingengineering – solving problems through clever designcoding – translating logic into executable code

code is disposable

it no longer needs to be maintained. it can be regenerated whenever the system definition changes.

turri crt
other coding agents vs turri
other coding agents
maintain the code, patched prompt after prompt
the agent decides what to build, as it goes
tests are written and changed by the same agent
stuck? it quietly works around the problem
done? the agent says so
turri
maintain the system definition
built step by step, in a fixed order, nothing skipped
tests come from the system definition. the coding agent can't change them
stuck? it stops and asks which part of the system definition to clarify
done? every unit is tested and proved by turri
turri understands what it is building

faq

questions, answered

what is turri?

the first open-source (MIT licensed) coding agent, built on pi, that has the power of regenerative software.

how do i use turri?

download the desktop app:

downloadfor

prefer the terminal? the cli install is at the bottom of the page, and the docs cover the rest.

which models can i use?

any model pi supports. turri uses a capable model you talk to, which writes the intent and plans the work, and a smaller, cheaper one that writes the code.

how much does turri cost?

turri itself is free. you bring your own model provider, with an api key or /login, and pay them for what the models use. turri shows the cost of every build as it runs.

isn't regeneration expensive?

regenerative software is built on understanding. the agent knows exactly what it's building, and that keeps it cheap.

do i always need to regenerate the entire codebase when the intent changes?

turri works on intent changes: it sees which functionalities changed and regenerates only those. however, starting from scratch is always an option.

where does turri run?

macOS, linux and WSL, with native windows on a best-effort basis through git bash. you need git, bash and node 22.19 or newer, or you can run it from a single docker image.
